| Campingplatz am Rhein, Rudesheim is our favourite site in Germany and we
have stayed there on many occasions. We received a warm welcome from the
owner, Oliver, who speaks perfect English, and his family.  Fortunately our favourite pitch was
free and we were able to set up on it. Oliver escorts you to your pitch
and connects up the electricity for you.

		| Although the pitch does not have a Rhine view, it is well placed for all
the facilities and has great shade from the trees, something we were
very grateful for as the temperatures were up to 37C whilst we were
		there.
The Site has been up-graded since we were there, with the addition of a
		brilliant new toilet block

and a complete rebuild of the mens side of the original toilet block,
another brilliant job. The refurbished block can be seen in the centre of the
		photo.

The Site itself is very well maintained and has many features which give
		it character.

		| Next to the Campsite is an open air pool and sports complex which many
from the site take advantage of. About 300 metres away is a very
comprehensive shopping area with Aldi,  Lidl and a couple of other
supermarkets as well as a McDonalds, for the children of course! Also a
petrol station. Rudesheim itself is a bit of an upmarket tourist resort
which does very well from the visiting cruise ships. There is plenty to
see and do and many eating and drinking establishments. The local Rhine
cruise ships can be boarded from a jetty on the way into the town.
Although there is plenty to do around the local area, the site itself is
very quiet and peaceful and many campers can be found just sitting out
and relaxing, many with a book and a glass of the local wine. |
